Press Release: Tri-pack and Wealmoor PR

Lincolnshire based packaging firm partners with leading global produce business in a battle for more sustainable packaging solutions.

Tri-pack, based in Grimsby has been manufacturing eco-friendly packaging solutions since 1974, dominating the seafood industry with their CoolSeal boxes, the brand has become the go-to name for sustainable fish boxes. In more recent years, Tri-pack has turned their focus towards other industries including fresh produce. Their sole mission is to provide a packaging solution which completes the circular economy. Meaning the raw material used to produce the packaging can be recycled time and time again with 100% of the material being sustainably reused.

Tri-pack have recently expanded their business with a new partnership with leading fresh produce business; Wealmoor. The company specialises in growing, packing and marketing fruit, vegetables, herbs and subtropical produce from all over the world. They are well-known suppliers into many leading supermarkets. The business is built on the ethos of making a positive impact on the world around them. They aim to protect both the environment and the wellbeing of communities globally, by supporting such policies as the modern slavery policy and UN sustainable development goals. With this basic philosophy and eco-friendly passion, Wealmoor was seeking a sustainable packaging partner for their Herbfresh business. Approaching Tri-pack in Spring 2019, the partnership between Tri-pack and Wealmoor is now in the advanced trial stages. Tri-pack stood proud against its competitors early on in the trial; being the only packaging provider who could deliver a 100% recyclable and sustainably sourced solution.

Prior to the partnership, Wealmoor stored all packaging boxes in a separate warehouse, which involved a team of people who stored and transported the packaging ready for distribution. The previous packaging was bulky and took up valuable pallet space, which is a common problem for many businesses. Tri-pack however, offers a flat-pack solution which means up to 70% more storage capacity on a single pallet. For Wealmoor this meant the packaging does not need to the stored and distributed from another warehouse, also resulting in a reduction in their carbon footprint.

All of Tri-packs packaging can be printed bespoke to the client which stands out head and shoulders above any polystyrene or cardboard alternative. The branding design for the Herbfresh produce line is bold and striking which adds an element of quality and markets the product itself.

Not only does the Herbfresh box look the part but this 100% recyclable option is also better for the product. The packaging is BRC and FCA approved. The patented dual-barrier technology which Tri-pack provide keeps the herbs fresher for longer while the rigid packaging easily protecting the product inside.

Both Tri-pack and Wealmoor are incredibly excited about what this partnership means for both companies as well as the wider community and environment.
