Compliance, standards and accreditation
As well as a comprehensive supplier visit schedule carried out by ourglobal due diligence team to ensure compliance to our own strict standards across all disciplines of agricultural management, social standards and food quality and safety requirements, we also have regular independent customer-specific audits from businesses such as Waitrose, Sainsbury’s, Asda, Ocado, Morrisons, Tesco and several other foodservice customers.
Over the many years of supplying fresh produce, we have won a number of industry awards for our work in several areas, including championing British agriculture, ethical trading and sustainability in South America, West Africa and Kenya. Our dedication in making long term sustainable impact towards water conservation, women’s empowerment and community development through established programmes have won several awards and are recognised as industry-leading.
Consistent Grade A+ and AA+ British Retail Consortium (BRCGS) Status
We demonstrate the highest standards of food safety across all disciplines. The BRCGS audits are evaluated annually and we have exhibited long-term high levels of consistency. They are unannounced as indicated by the "+" and are carried out at all three Wealmoor sites.
Ethical Trading Initiative (ETI)
We maintain ongoing compliance to the requirements of the Ethical Trading Initiative (ETI) Base Code, demonstrating the highest standards of staff welfare.
Soil Association Organic Status Award
We meet the highest levels of organic product management, which includes our entire global organic supply base representing thirty two different organic products sourced from seventeen countries.
Red Tractor Site Accreditation
We and our farmers produce, and pack products in accordance with the strict Red Tractor assurance scheme.
LEAF (Linking Environment And Farming)
Global GAP (Good Agricultural Practice) Audits
We are certified at all of our UK farms.
Our entire international grower supply base has achieved and maintains the annual Global GAP award. Our growers are supported in achieving this by our global due diligence team
Specific supplier accredita- tions to SEDEX (Supplier Ethical Data Exchange) and SMETA (Sedex Member Ethical trade Audit)
Our suppliers comply with the international and local ethical, and social compliance requirements.
BRC Accreditations
At key pack houses and suppliers around the world. Key supplier accredi- tation to the internationally recognised social compliance standard SA 8000.
Rainforest Alliance certification
Rollout of the internationally recognised Rainforest Alliance certification to key suppliers demonstrating a commitment to the global environment and recogni- tion of our environmental impacts and mitigation strategies.
Association of Labour Providers (ALP)
The ALP is committed to raising the standards of agency labour supply and use, and promotes partnership working between labour providers and labour users to achieve this.
