Crispy Green Beans

Ingredients 

300g Green Beans
200g Plain Flour (for the batter) 
400g Soya Milk
2 Tbsp Zaatar (optional) 
Sea Salt to taste

Breadcrumbs (ideally Panko if available)
Extra Flour for coating
500ml Vegetable or Sunflower Oil

Method:

  1. Wash and trim the green beans and cook them in salted boiling water for 3 minutes, drain and transfer to a bowl of ice and water to prevent discoloring.

  2. Once cool, drain again, dry with a kitchen towel and set aside.

  3. Whisk the batter flour, water and zaatar in a bowl until smooth.

  4. Coat in the beans in the extra flour, then in batter and then in breadcrumb. Repeat the steps twice.

  5. Heat the oil on a medium high heat in a large saucepan and cook the beans until golden brown.

  6. Drain and pat dry with a paper towel to remove excess oil. Serve with a lemon wedge and your favourite dips.
